Private Voice Lessons
Do you have a tween or teen that loves to sing and is ready to take it to the next level? Maybe they want to audition for the school musical or sing in the next talent show? Maybe they like to compose their own songs or enjoy recording?
Private voice lessons are perfect for the budding star!
What goes on in a voice lesson?
- Students learn healthy technique so they can sing without hurting their voice
- They learn to find their own unique voice! No imitating others!
- We explore music that kids are actually excited about singing!
- Students add expression and gestures to a song so they tell a story while singing
- We learn the basics of music theory and sight singing so they feel confident in any musical setting
- Students start to write their own songs including lyrics and melody!
- We make recordings and students learn the basics of music production!
Student Success
With preparation in lessons, students have successfully auditioned for community theatre productions (Middlesex County Play-in-the-Park, Main Street Music Theatre Company, Villagers Theatre, The Premiere Theatre Company) as well as school and summer camp musicals. They have also gotten numerous solos in school choirs.
Students have successfully auditioned for:
- NJSMA Region II Choir
- NJMEA All State Choir
- NJMEA All State Opera Festival
- CJMEA Region Intermediate Chorus
- ACDA High School Men’s Honor Choir
- ACDA Children’s Honor Choir
- Rutgers Children’s Choir
Additionally, vocal students achieved a mark of merit or distinction on the ABRSM exams, which are an extension of the Royal Schools of Music.
